Bill Braun Artist Obituary, Death – The name William The 24th of March, 1939 to the 23rd of January, 2009 Bill Braun passed away calmly with his devoted wife Annie and his three devoted children, Kira, Ben, and Nathan, by his side when he passed away.

Bill was born in Brantford, which is located in Ontario. At the Royal Conservatory of Music, he was trained in voice, piano, and harmony performance. After that, he found work with the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto, where he served as a soloist and director for the company. Bill resided in Victoria for nearly 15 years, during which time he worked both onstage and offstage at the McPherson Playhouse and the Belfry Theatre.

Traveled around British Columbia with the Kaleidoscope Theatre, and instructed students at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. He conducted a number of operas for the VCM at the Church of Our Lord, which is located directly across from St. Anne’s Academy. After that, Bill worked as an artist-in-residence in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, and as an arts administrator for the Quinte Summer Music program in Picton, Ontario, for a combined total of several years.

Jacob, Bill’s father, and Olga, Bill’s mother, together with his brothers Jimmy and Victor, all passed away before Bill. He is survived by his wife, Anne Klein; his daughter, Kira Walker; his sons, Ben Hjermstad and Nathan Hjermstad; his grandchildren Nicholas, Alexander, Emily, Tristan, Josie, Carmen, and Adam; and his siblings, Irene Lewis, Kate Aird, and Irma Lubbe.
