Rosa Gonzalez Obituary, Death – After a protracted bout with illness, Rosa Gonzalez (née Soto), age 81, of Lorain, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on the 29th of August, 1941 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, however she spent most of her life in Florida before relocating to Lorain in the 1980s. Her hobbies were cooking and sewing, and she was a member of the Iglesia Pentecostal Cristo Misionera in the city of Lorain.
Her children, Jose Gonzalez of Lorain, Rosa Gonzalez of Cleveland, and Iris Sanchez of Lorain; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; her brother, Lorenzo Soto of Arecibo; and her sisters, Librada Soto, Sonia Soto, and Maria Perez, Margarita Soto, and Lydia Soto all of New York. She is also survived by her brother, Lorenzo Soto. Her parents, Lorenzo Serrano and Estervina Soto; her husband of 59 years, Domingo Gonzalez, who passed away in 2019; her brothers, Catalino Soto and Felipe Soto; and her sisters,
Inez Soto, Ana Delia Soto, Juana Soto, Esther Soto, and Lydia Soto; all predeceased her. She was married to Domingo Gonzalez. On Monday, friends and family are invited to visit with the family at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, located at 2701 Elyria Avenue in Lorain, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Iglesia Pentecostal Cristo Misioner,
located at 1930 Broadway Avenue in Lorain, will be the location of the funeral ceremonies on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will be presided over by Rev. Ruben Rodriguez, the pastor. After the service, the burial will take place at Ridgehill Memorial Park in Amherst Twp.
