Michael Bislich Obituary, Death – My efforts to devise a strategy for writing this piece have taken up the entirety of today, and I hope to have something substantial to share with you tomorrow. I have a lot of images, and right now I’m looking through them all in an effort to find the one that best captures my dad and me together.
I’ve been racking my brain trying to come up with a manner to part ways that seems genuine to me. On Friday night, my father succumbed to the lung cancer that had spread to other regions of his body, including his brain. He had been fighting this disease for a very long and difficult time. He had been battling the illness for a very considerable amount of time.
He continued to fight right up until the moment he passed away. In spite of the fact that he was unable to speak with anyone else, he never stopped smiling or blowing me kisses. The night before he lost consciousness and became unresponsive, he made sure to tell me that he loved me and that he was proud of me.
He also told me that he was proud of me. My father was able to better not just his own life but also the lives of others who were close to him, despite the fact that he had his fair share of shortcomings. Because of his limitless capacity for comedy, he left every single person he ever engaged with with a smile and a good laugh on their face. I adore you so much, Daddy.
