Laura Michaels Obituary, Death – It is with heavy hearts that we come together to remember and honor the life of Laura Leigh Parsons Michaels, a beloved member of our community. Laura, aged 62, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at her residence in Tuscumbia, following an extended illness.
Laura was a cherished member of the Colbert Heights Church of Christ and a devoted wife, loving mother, and loyal friend. She was known for her unwavering support for her children, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams. To know Laura was to love her, and her warmth and kindness touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Laura is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, David Michaels; her son, Josh Burks; her daughter, Hannah Michaels, and son-in-law, Dylan Mann; and the grandchildren of her heart, Garrett Counce, Cody Counce, Dillon Counce, Ann Marie Counce, and Wyatt Counce. Laura also shared a special bond with her four-legged friend, CoCo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Ray and Winni Faye (Sparks) Parsons, leaving behind a host of friends who will forever cherish her memory.
To pay your respects and celebrate Laura’s life, a visitation will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the Knights of Pythias Cemetery, where Bro. Jacob Walker will officiate the service.
Laura’s presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to bring warmth and light to our hearts. We invite all who knew her to join us in saying a final farewell and finding comfort in the shared memories we hold dear.
