Joseph Colvin Sr. Obituary, Death – Joseph Edward Colvin, Sr., 77, of Poole Mill Road, Crofton, KY, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 18, 2023, surrounded by his family, due to natural causes. A graveside service to honor his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 25, 2023, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. The compassionate team at Lamb Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends and well-wishers are invited to pay their respects during the visitation hours, which will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the Lamb Funeral Home. Joseph Edward Colvin, Sr., originally hailing from Richmond, CA, was born on April 16, 1946, to the late Donald Furnice Colvin and the late Thelma Margurite (Farthing) Colvin.
Joseph dedicated his life to serving his country, retiring as a Staff Sergeant from the United States Army after completing two tours of duty in Vietnam. His commitment to his community was also evident through his active membership in the First United Methodist Church and the VFW Post 1913. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Helen Kay Lyons Colvin, of Crofton, KY. Joseph leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through his sons: Joseph Edward Colvin, Jr.
Donald Monroe Colvin, and Ronald Dale Colvin, all residing in Fresno, CA; and his daughters: Mary Elizabeth Esty of Hopkinsville, KY, and Angela LaFlamme of Kingman, AZ. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Adams, of Half Moonbay, CA, and his sister, Donna May, of Mantega, CA. Joseph’s memory lives on through his 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Joseph Edward Colvin, Sr. will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the community he served so faithfully. His legacy of dedication, love, and service will continue to inspire those who knew him.
