Frank Ardis Obituary, Death – On September 17, 2023, at the Ohio State Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, Mansfield resident Judge Frank Ardis, Jr. passed away at the age of 74. Judge Ardis’s parents were Frank Ardis and Teresa Celestino Ardis, and she was born on June 22, 1949 in Holden 22, which is a coal mining hamlet located in Logan County, West Virginia.
After relocating to Ohio, Judge Ardis received his high school graduation from Mansfield Senior High School in 1967, his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in 1971, and his juris doctorate from The University of Akron School of Law in 1974. All three degrees were earned after the judge completed his studies at The Ohio State University. Following his relocation to the state, the judge quickly achieved all three of these notable milestones.
Before he was appointed to his current position as Mansfield Municipal Court Judge in 2010, he had previously held the positions of part-time Assistant Law Director from 1974 to 1979, Special Counsel for the Ohio Attorney General from 1983 to 1987, Richland County Domestic Relations and Juvenile Court Magistrate from 1987 to 1992, and Richland County part-time Assistant Prosecutor from 2007 to 2010. In 2010, he was given the appointment to his current position as Mansfield Municipal Court Judge.
It was in 2010 when he was given the appointment that ultimately led to him serving as the judge of the Mansfield Municipal Court. Furthermore, Judge Ardis was able to successfully keep his position as a partner in a private law office for a total of almost 35 years.
