Tom spent many years working in the banking sector, first for Wachovia and then for BB&T, and now for Truist, where he had been a devoted worker for the last 25 years. Tom was an ardent sportsman from his school days until he was an adult. Football, baseball, basketball, and a solid round of golf were all sports he enjoyed playing. Tom enjoyed participating in a variety of sports just as much as he enjoyed rooting for his favorite groups, N.C. State and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Tom’s family was the most significant thing in his life. Each and every element of Tom’s life demonstrated the close relationship he had with his son Andrew. Among other things, Tom and Andrew loved sports and cherished their time together playing them. Tom was frequently observed encouraging Andrew from the sidelines. To cheer on their favorite baseball teams, they traveled great distances to numerous ballparks, arenas, and stadiums.
