Stephanie Sloan Obituary, Death – Stephanie Ann Sloan, a beloved member of the Galesburg community, left us unexpectedly on Monday, September 4, 2023, at the age of 56. She was born on June 30, 1967, in Chilton, Wisconsin, the cherished daughter of Ricky K. and Margo (Lulloff) Sloan. Stephanie’s educational journey led her to graduate from Kiel High School in 1985.
Later, she pursued higher education at the University of Minnesota—Twin Cities, where she earned a degree in communications. Most recently, Stephanie was employed as the finance manager at the dealership that was formerly Yemm—Ford, now known as Ford of Galesburg. Stephanie was not only dedicated to her work but was also an active member of the Lake Bracken Country Club, where she had the honor of serving on the board.
Her time at the club was filled with joyful activities such as golfing, boating, and adventurous four-wheeler rides with her close-knit circle of friends. One of Stephanie’s passions was exploring the world through travel. She relished in the art of planning and organizing trips, often taking the lead in coordinating these adventures for her group of travel companions.
Stephanie’s remarkable organizational skills extended to her involvement in fundraising events at Lake Bracken, with a focus on supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Stephanie’s memory will be lovingly cherished by her soulmate and life partner, Scot Kelm of Galesburg. Her mother, Margo Sloan of Kiel, and her brother, Kris (Trish) Sloan, along with her nephew, Otto Sloan, all residing in Austin, Texas, hold dear memories of their time together.
Stephanie’s grandmother, Alyce “Butch” Lulloff of Kiel, remains in loving remembrance of her granddaughter. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Delores Clancey, Barbara (Dennis) Lindell, Gary (Molly) Sloan, Joyce Sloan, Eric “Rick” (Charlene) Lulloff, Anthony (Janet) Lulloff, Joel (Jennifer) Lulloff, and Gwen Ninmer (John Brotz). Stephanie’s two furry companions, Rufus and Ruby, added joy to her life.
She will also be remembered by her wide circle of friends, as her warm and welcoming nature meant she never met a stranger. Tragically, Stephanie was preceded in death by her father, Ricky, who passed away on August 26, 2023. Stephanie’s radiant smile and infectious laughter touched the hearts of all who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed.
