Shawn Murrey Obituary, Death – Shawn M. Murrey, aged 33, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 15, 2023. He was born on April 2, 1990, in Newark, Ohio, to parents James and Rekee (Humble) Murrey and was a former resident of Alexandria. Shawn possessed a strong aptitude for computer technology and IT, having previously worked for Affiliated Computer Services in Anderson. His authenticity and honesty endeared him to those who knew him.
Shawn approached life with a spirit of fun and energy, and he had a special place in the hearts of his nieces and nephews. Additionally, he was an enthusiastic supporter of the Dallas Mavericks and a talented guitar player. Shawn is survived by his sister, Devin (Terry) Powers of Alexandria; five brothers: Brooks Hamilton of Clearwater, Florida; Jeff (Adrienne) Murrey of Alexandria; Tyler Brown of Anderson; Steven Murrey and Taylor Murrey (Sydney), both of Alexandria; his father, James Murrey of Clearwater, Florida.
Step-mother Rhonda Brown-Murrey of Marion; special friends, the entire Crawford family in Newark, Ohio; and a special cousin, Adam Eckhardt in Vermont. He is also remembered by several nieces and nephews. Shawn was preceded in death by his mother, Rekee Murrey. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
