Sandra Cooke Obituary, Death – On September 12, 2023, at the age of 63, Sandra Ellen Cooke, who had spent her whole life in the Cle Elum region, passed away unexpectedly at the home she shared with her husband in South Cle Elum. A memorial ceremony will be held at the Cle Elum Community Church on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Worth Wilson officiating the event. The interment of the urn will take place at Laurel Hill Memorial Park after the service.
Dexter and Carol (Renfro) Cooke welcomed their daughter Sandra into the world on November 4, 1959 in Ellensburg. She first attended Central Washington University and then went on to complete her education at ITT Technical Institute after completing her high school studies at Cle Elum High School. After graduating from ITT, Sandra went to work for the City of Roslyn. After leaving her job with the city, she began working at the Roslyn Telephone Company, which turned into a lifelong career working for the Inland Telephone, Networks, and Cellular companies. Currently, Sandra continues to work for the Inland Telephone, Networks, and Cellular companies. She spent 36 years working for “Inland” firms, during which time she made a great number of lifelong friends there.
Sandra had many interests, including making crafts, participating in activities, and spending time with her friends and family. She had a deep and abiding affection for her “furry kids” and delighted in regaling others with tales and images of her feline companions. Everyone who knew Sandra will miss her because she had a kind and loving heart and because she was so profoundly loved by so many people.
Her parents had already passed away when Sandra was born. She is survived by her sister Sally (Jeff) Keilman, as well as her brothers Alan (Pamela Coleman) Cooke, Steve (Deanne), and Lynn (Deana) Cooke. Her husband also survives her. She is also survived by a large number of nieces and nephews who called her “Auntie” throughout their lives. It is advised that memorial contributions be made in Sandra’s honor to the ARRF Animal Rescue facility located in Roslyn.
