Ronney Kenitahana Obituary, Death – We were shocked to find that Ronney Kenitahana, a beloved local resident and the team leader for the Solomon Islands New Zealand Alumni Community (SINZAC), had passed away. Ronney left an enduring impression on everyone who had the honor of knowing him due to his unwavering excitement, passion, and dedication to his job.
He made tremendous contributions to our alumni network and served as a great alumni advocate for New Zealand. The successful launch of SINZAC in 2022 was one of Ronney’s major accomplishments while serving as SINZAC Team Leader. This significant event enhanced ties between the Solomon Islands and New Zealand as well as the alumni community.
Ronney continued to work tirelessly; he also hosted two distinct delegations from the New Zealand Pacific Mission that visited the Solomon Islands, once in 2019 and again more recently in April of this year. These programs demonstrated his dedication to strengthening ties and encouraging collaboration between the two countries. In addition to being a committed leader, Ronney was a passionate sports fan.
Our condolences and prayers are with Ronney Kenitahana’s family and friends as we mourn his passing. We may find comfort in the knowledge that his contributions will continue to influence the future of our alumni community and that his memory will always be cherished. A totara has fallen in the forest of Tane, and in the words of the Maori whakatauk, “Kua hinga he totara i te wao nui a Tane,” we pay our respects and commemorate a mighty member of our society who has begun the journey to the next life. Ronney Kenitahana, may you rest in peace. Although we will miss you terribly, your legacy will endure in our thoughts and the work we carry on doing in your name.
