Patrick McDermott Obituary, Death – Patrick Bernard McDermott, also known as Paury, was a cherished son, husband, father, brother, and friend who passed away in Birr, Co. Offaly, and Cheshire, England. On September 9th, 2023, he quietly passed away after a valiant struggle with illness. Those who knew and loved him will always hold a special place in their hearts for him.
His irrepressible spirit and steadfast devotion to his family left a lasting impression on the world. Philomena, Paury’s adored wife, and their son Michael were the focus of his universe. The mere mention of his beloved grandsons Edison and Clara would make his face glow. He treasured every moment he had with them, sharing knowledge and making beautiful memories that would last for many years.
Paury, who came from a loving family, was the one who made everyone happy. He is warmly remembered by his sister Pauline and brother Frank, who treasure the innumerable times they supported one another as siblings. The influence of Paury went far beyond his immediate family. His friends and extended family in both the UK and Ireland held a particular place in their hearts for him. He made a lasting impression on many people’s lives with his genuine friendliness and pleasant grin.
On Friday, September 22nd, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, friends and acquaintances are welcome to pay their respects at Boyd’s Funeral Home in Birr (R42YF75). On Saturday, September 23, at noon, a Funeral Mass will be performed at Terryglass’s Church of the Immaculate Conception, followed by a burial in Terryglass Cemetery. As we say goodbye to Paury, we recall a guy with steadfast courage, limitless love, and a kind heart. May his kind spirit rest in peace, and may his memories serve as a constant reminder to us to treasure the times we spend with our loved ones, as he did throughout his extraordinary life.
