Norbert Duray Obituary, Death – Norbert W. Duray, Sr., aged 94, of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in the comfort of his own residence. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen Duray (nee Wajda), with whom he shared 60 years of love and companionship until her passing on June 19, 2013.
Norbert was a loving father to Kathleen Duray, the late Norbert (Lenore) Duray II, Michele Rohrman, Anita (Rex) Clark, and Judith (Donald) Starkey. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and his presence brought warmth and love into their lives.
In his role as a grandfather, Norbert held a special place in the hearts of Norbert Duray III, Thomas (Stephanie) Duray, Brittany, and Caitie Rohrman. He took pride in his role as a great-grandfather, and the joy he found in Elise and Genevieve Duray was immeasurable.
Norbert was not only a loving family man but also a dear uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, who looked up to him with respect and admiration. His kindness and wisdom left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Kandalec, and four brothers, John, Rev. Louis G., Andrew, and Joseph Duray. Their memory, along with his, will forever be cherished by family and friends.
