Jeanne Thayne Obituary, Death – Jeanne Anderson Thayne, a remarkable woman known for her grace, elegance, and gentle spirit, bid farewell to her earthly existence on September 16th, 2023, at the age of 94. Just one month before her passing, her family gathered to celebrate the beauty of her 94 years, showering her with love and joy.

In her final months and days, Jeanne was blessed with the presence of most of her family and numerous friends, a testament to the profound impact she had on their lives. Jeanne was born on July 27th, 1929, in Ogden, Utah, as the third of six children born to Carl Ferrell and Ethel L. Anderson. She spent her formative years in the small Eastern Montana town of Glendive, where her family operated Anderson’s Department Store.

In a town where they were often the only members of the LDS church, Jeanne’s faith, love, and acceptance of all she knew were nurtured. Her remarkable ability to see the best in others was one of her most endearing qualities. Jeanne’s early exposure to the retail world and her family’s store instilled in her the values of hospitality, social grace, and ethics.

After graduating from Dawson High, she embarked on her higher education journey at Utah Agricultural College, now known as Utah State University. It was during a geology class that she crossed paths with a young and dashing Stanley James Thayne, a World War II veteran who was teaching the class. Their connection blossomed into love, and they exchanged vows in 1949 in the Logan LDS Temple.

Orem, Utah, became their permanent home, and together they ventured into the entrepreneurial world by opening a Dairy Queen. Jeanne and Stanley, or “Stan” as he was affectionately known, raised five children and worked tirelessly to create a warm and joyful home. Jeanne’s exceptional qualities shone through as a mother. She possessed a calm and composed demeanor, choosing to uplift and encourage her children, appreciating their unique personalities, boundless energy, and diverse talents.

Jeanne never resorted to criticism; instead, she offered unwavering support and love. Throughout her life, Jeanne Anderson Thayne embodied the principles of faith, kindness, and acceptance. Her legacy is one of grace and a steadfast belief in the goodness of others. Her journey through life was marked by an abiding love for her family, a commitment to her faith, and a remarkable ability to see the best in everyone she met.
