Jean Sysko Obituary, Death – On September 18, 2023, our beloved Jean Ann Sysko, a resident of Benton, Wisconsin, passed away at the age of 68. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Benton, Wisconsin. The service will be officiated by Reverend David Flanagan, and the burial will follow at the cemetery adjacent to the church.
On Sunday, September 24, friends and family are invited to visit the Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, Wisconsin, between 2:00 and 6:00 p.m., with a Scripture Wake Service at 1:45 p.m. Additionally, guests can pay their respects at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. before the service begins.
Jean Ann Weaver was born on November 10, 1954, in Darlington, Wisconsin, to her loving parents, Ross and Arloween Weaver. She graduated from Darlington High School. On September 4, 1976, she exchanged vows with David Sysko at Darlington United Methodist Church, uniting their lives in marriage. Jean Ann’s career included working in the insurance field in Madison, Wisconsin, before returning to the area.
She later joined the Cuba City Family Dental practice, followed by becoming the first employee of Shullsburg Creamery. Throughout her professional life, Jean Ann held positions at Donahue Furniture, Sysko Books, Gasser True Value, and American Bank. Jean Ann and David enjoyed spending quality time together, whether it was playing golf, wintering in Florida, or competing in card and mahjong games.
She was an active member of the Lioness Club, contributing her efforts to various projects and organizing excursions for friends. Jean Ann had a deep passion for fundraising, participating in ladies’ league activities and tournament organization during her time at Cole Acres. Her infectious love, joy, and happiness touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Jean Ann’s warm and caring personality left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jean Ann is survived by her loving husband, David Sysko of Benton, and her siblings: Gary (Becky) Weaver of Stoughton, Wisconsin, Connie (Tom) Sawyer of Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, and David (Francine) Weaver of Sycamore, Illinois. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Jean Ann was preceded in death by her parents.
