Grace Roberts Obituary, Death – With immense sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Grace Roberts on Friday, November 4, 2022, at St. Clare’s Hospital in St. John’s, in the comforting presence of her loving family.
Grace, at the age of 98, embarked on her final journey to join her beloved husband, Daniel Roberts, who had previously passed away in January 2015. She was born to her parents, Arthur and Nellie Earle, and shared her childhood with her brother, Haldon Earle. Grace’s life journey took her from her hometown of Fogo to reside on both Fogo Island and St. John’s, where she leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and cherished memories.
Grace’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her daughters: Carolyn (Ford), Susan, Jocelyn (David), and her sons: David (Elizabeth) and Tony (Maxine). She was a doting grandmother to 12 grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to 18 great-grandchildren. Grace also leaves behind her step-sister, Pauline Tarrant. Her memory will be treasured by a vast circle of family and friends whose lives she touched in meaningful ways.
Honoring Grace’s wishes, her earthly journey culminated in cremation, and there will be no public visitation. A private Celebration of Life will be held for both Grace and Daniel Roberts at Woolfrey’s Funeral Home on November 10, 2022, followed by interment at U.C. Cemetery in Lewisporte. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated team at Meadowcreek Retirement Centre.
Including management and staff, for their unwavering care during Grace’s 8-year stay there. Additionally, the family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nursing staff of the 6th Floor West at St. Clare’s Hospital for their exceptional care during Grace’s final week. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, located at 262 Main Street in Lewisporte, where the memory of Grace Roberts will be commemorated and celebrated.
