Don Schumacher Obituary, Death – It is with heavy hearts that we received the news of Don Schumacher’s passing yesterday evening. Don, who had been diligently serving as the Rector of GCVDC #80, has now found solace and tranquility in the loving embrace of Jesus.
Don held a special place not only in the hearts of many but also in my own. He was more than a friend; he was a dear companion for many years. As we navigated life’s twists and turns, Don and I forged a bond that went beyond friendship. He wasn’t just a friend; he was a reunion brother, and he held the significant role of Head Cha, guiding and leading us with unwavering dedication.
However, life had a different plan for Don, one that he confronted with courage and grace. Roughly a decade ago, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a challenging battle that he fought valiantly. His resilience in the face of this debilitating illness was nothing short of inspiring. Don’s unwavering spirit and determination were evident to all who knew him.
During these trying years, Don displayed remarkable strength and perseverance. He faced each day with a sense of purpose and an indomitable will to overcome the obstacles that Parkinson’s presented. His unwavering faith, even in the darkest of times, served as a beacon of hope for those around him. As we come to terms with the loss of our dear friend and companion.
We find solace in the knowledge that he is now free from the pain and suffering that had plagued him for far too long. Don has embarked on a new journey, one where pain and illness hold no sway, and where he can finally find the peace and rest he so rightfully deserves. In honor of Don’s memory and the profound impact he had on our lives, we are in the process of arranging a gathering to pay our respects and celebrate his life.
While the details are yet to be finalized, we will provide you with further information in due course. In these trying times, we turn to our faith and hold onto the belief that Don is now in the presence of God, basking in His eternal love and grace. We take solace in the knowledge that his suffering has come to an end, and he is at peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with Don’s family and loved ones as they navigate this difficult period of loss. May they find comfort in the memories they shared and the love that will forever remain in their hearts. In the name of God, we offer our prayers and bid farewell to our dear friend, Don Schumacher. May he rest in eternal peace.
