Cynthia Hedrick Obituary, Death – Cynthia Davis Hedrick, a beloved resident of Statesville, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the age of 70, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Her departure was the result of a brief illness, and she transitioned into the arms of the Lord Jesus, leaving behind cherished memories.
Cynthia was born in Catawba County on July 25, 1953, to her parents, the late Howard “Bud” Holsclaw and Jo Ann Pope, as well as Gene Autrey Davis. She endured the loss of her husband, Carl Hedrick Jr., and her son, Nicholas Paul Bowman, who had preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Tyler, and her husband, Ryan, of Bethlehem, along with granddaughters Bailey Jo Tyler and Kinsley Ann Tyler, both residing in Bethlehem.
Cynthia also leaves behind her step-son, Sonny Hedrick, and his wife, Jennifer, of Statesville, as well as step-grandchildren, Cole Hedrick, Trace Hedrick, and Taylor Hedrick, all residing in Statesville. Her memory lives on through her brother, Mark Holsclaw of Hickory, sister Teresa Davis of Newton, step-sisters Candace Teague and Leah Long, and step-mother Regina Holsclaw of Hickory. Cynthia also held a special place in her heart for her close friend, Harriet Shoemaker, and was cherished by numerous extended family members and friends.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Hickory Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Pastor Lee Harris and Pastor Tom Huntsinger. Cynthia will find her final resting place at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Cynthia Davis Hedrick’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, and she will be dearly missed.
