Buckie Wells Obituary, Death – As the news continues to circulate… It is with a heavy heart that I must share the news of the demise of my colleague and big ‘brother’ Buckie Wells. The call came in the day before yesterday. This information is completely beyond my comprehension, and I am making a concerted effort to think back on the happy times. A good number of you are aware that we worked as co-teachers for a total of four years. He was in every sense my older brother.
We discussed the Lord, schooling, and our various relationships, as well as a lot of other topics. I picked up quite a few new skills from him. In addition to that, he bestowed upon me the title of ‘Auntie’ of Little Bubba. It is going to take some time for me to digest what has just been said. As you can see, Mr. Wells was not a fan of pictures being taken, but I managed to get a few of them nonetheless in order to try to record some of the wonderful things he did both in the classroom and as the “Coach Buckie” on campus for a number of years.
He contributed significantly to the success of Liberty High School. Even though he had been away from teaching for approximately a year and a half at that point, he continued to email me suggestions for the kids’ journals. He assisted everyone he knew and genuinely cared about the youngsters at the school. He had a lot of compassion for them. If it weren’t for him, I probably would have been stuck in the school parking lot all day with a flat tire and a broken brake light. Thanks to him, I got out of there. I have a lot more to say to you all, but I’m going to stop here. I ask that you continue to pray for him and his family.
