Bruce Rogers Obituary, Death – Bruce W. Rogers, age 67, of Gowanda, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, September 17, 2023. Bruce was born on May 16, 1956, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the son of Alfred and Alma (Fyock) Rogers. He graduated from Gowanda Central High School as part of the Class of 1976. Throughout his career, Bruce worked at the former Tri-County Hospital in Gowanda.
Where he was involved in food service and housekeeping. Bruce spent his formative years in Dayton and volunteered with the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department. He was an active member of the Countryside Baptist Church in Perrysburg, actively participating in church functions and being an integral part of the church family. He cherished home group meetings, including Clean, Sober, and Saved.
Additionally, Bruce was a dedicated member of the Fiddlers Association, serving as the group’s Chaplain. Surviving Bruce are his sister, Bonneta “Bonnie” (Charlie) Nobles of Forestville, and a brother, Alfred (Paula) Rogers of Wisconsin. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Ruth (Mardino) Rogers, the wife of his late brother Jerry. Bruce leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his brothers, Norman and Gerald “Jerry” Rogers. Friends and family may pay their respects at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME, located at 44 Center St. in Gowanda, on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Bruce’s funeral service, officiated by Pastor Ben Schutt of Countryside Baptist Church, will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the conclusion of the visitation at the funeral home. Bruce will be laid to rest in the Jolls Cemetery in Perrysburg, New York, alongside his parents and his brother Norm.
