Victor Roe Obituary, Death – Victor Claude Roe passed away in his home at the age of 69, surrounded by his family. He was the son of Eugene Merle Roe and Iva Nell Huffman, both of whom had passed away prior to his birth on December 27, 1951 in Smithville, Missouri.

Following his graduation, Vic enlisted in the United States Navy and served throughout the Vietnam War era from 1970 until 1978. On July 8, 1972, in the state of New Jersey, he wed Judithanne Hale, and the couple went on to have two children: Victor Hale Roe and Katrina Teresa Roe. Following the conclusion of Vic and Judy’s marriage, he wed Rickey Louise (Gutermuth) Barthold on October 30, 1982 in the state of Missouri.

Rickey brought her two children, Aron Christine Barthold and Matthew Frederick Barthold, into the marriage. After 35 years, Vic took his retirement from Silgan Containers in St. Joseph, Missouri. He developed long-lasting friendships with a number of his coworkers, many of whom were there for him right up to the very end. Vic, also known as “Big Vic,” was sometimes compared to the “Marlboro Man,” a man who was described as being rough, tough, and good looking and who was never hesitant to take on any challenge.

Working cattle, team roping, calf roping, dog training, trail riding, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren were some of Vic’s favorite things to do in his spare time. He also enjoyed drinking beer with his family and friends while relaxing in a lawn chair. In the recent past, he and his wife Rickey have been snowbirds, spending their winters in Quartzsite, Arizona.

Where he is a member of the VFW Post 769. They had a good time being with one another in the warmer weather, meeting new people, going for rides on the Polaris Ranger, and watching the sunsets in Arizona. Jeffrey Merle, Vic’s brother, passed away before him in addition to their parents when Vic passed away. Daughters, Katrina Teresa (husband, Karl) of Clovis, New Mexico, and Aron Christine (husband, Jason) of Utica, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren.

Three sisters: Donna Jean Hickman (husband, Wayne) of Fort Worth, Texas; Linda Nell Roe of Lathrop, Missouri; Teresa Mae Pitts (husband, Everett) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; many nieces and nephews also survive in addition to his wife, Rickey (Barthold Vic made the decision to have his body cremated, and his remains will be laid to rest at the Perrin Cemetery with full military honors after his Celebration of Life, which will take place in the spring at some point.
