Steve Plichta Obituary, Death – Steve Plichta was the son of Eileen (Regan) Plichta, who passed away, and the late Frank S. Plichta. Steve was born in Fall River. Mr. Plichta was a member of the inaugural group of students to graduate from Bishop Connolly High School in Fall River, and he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Fordham University. He had held positions at Phillips Norelco in Norwalk, Connecticut as well as Lightolier in Fall River, Massachusetts.
Steve volunteered his time at the Greater Fall River Food Pantry for a significant amount of time. He was a voracious reader who also had a passion for music and enjoyed going to the Narrows Center for the Arts to see live performances. He was a devoted follower of all Boston sports teams, but notably the Red Sox. Steve was a voracious reader and was constantly up to date on world politics and other important topics. His loved ones and the people who were closest to him will feel a profound loss upon his passing.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister Ann M. Plichta of Fall River, a huge loving extended family that spans several generations, and a significant number of close friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 4-7 pm at the Hathaway Home for Funerals, located at 1813 Robeson Street in the Fall River neighborhood of Fall River. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. On Wednesday, September 20th, at 10am, a Mass of Christian Burial will be performed in Holy Name Church, which is located on Hanover Street in Fall River.
After the funeral, the burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Fall River.
