Jaylee Chillson Obituary, Death – Chilson, a beloved resident of Baldwinsville, New York, passed away at the age of 74 on December 6, 2022, in the comfort of her own home. Leora’s life was deeply rooted in her community, where she not only graduated from Jordan Elbridge High School but also earned her degree from Onondaga Community College.

Leora was a cherished figure in Baldwinsville, known for her unwavering dedication to the upbringing of multiple generations of young children. For an impressive thirty-five years, she served as the director of JE Country Kids Daycare, a testament to her enduring commitment to the children she cared for. Even at the time of her passing, she had not retired from her lifelong passion of nurturing and educating young minds.

Throughout her life’s journey, Leora faced and conquered significant health challenges, including breast cancer and heart illness. Her indomitable spirit, boundless kindness, and steadfast faith served as an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Leora found immense joy in spending time with her family and friends, with a special place in her heart for her cherished grandchildren.

She was renowned for her thoughtfulness and her knack for selecting the most heartwarming and meaningful gifts. Her legacy of kindness and affection will forever live on in the hearts of those who held her dear. Leora was preceded in death by her parents, Madeline and Andrew Traver, as well as her brothers, Bruce, Fred, and Andrew Traver.

She is survived by her loving children, James Chilson, Melinda Hawley (Peter), and Daniel Chilson, as well as her former spouse, David Chilson of Elbridge, New York. Leora’s children were her world, and she showered them with unconditional love and devotion. Her legacy also lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Skylar Chilson-Wood, Eve Chilson-Wood, Petra Hawley, and Jaxon Hawley.

Additionally, she is survived by her brother Joseph (Estella) Traver of Onondaga Hill, New York. Leora took immense pride in her grandchildren, and their memories will forever be treasured. Visitation to celebrate Leora’s life will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 3 to 6 pm at the Jordan United Methodist Church, located at 63 Elbridge Street.

The funeral service will commence at 6 pm, followed by a reception. In the spring, a final farewell will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Jordan. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to pay tribute to Leora may consider making a donation to the Vera House, an organization dedicated to assisting victims of domestic violence.
