Jason Slingerland Obituary, Death – After a protracted battle with illness, Jason Dean Gidley, who resided in Slingerlands, passed away on August 2, 2023. He was the son of Gerald Gidley and Faye Maxwell and was born on September 2, 1960 in Schenectady.
His parents’ names are both Gerald and Faye. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force, having served for four years, during which he was stationed in both Korea and the Philippines. He was a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School, and he was also a proud veteran of the Air Force. He had earned a black belt in Kuntaw to the level of the fourth degree and was an instructor in that style of martial arts.
He was the previous proprietor of J-Tech Archery and a devoted gardener who also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and a diverse array of musical genres in his spare time. He was the devoted father of Jacob and Grace Gidley of Slingerlands, and the husband of Grace Livoti Gidley, his wife’s former spouse. On Sunday, August 6, between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m.,
Visitors are welcome to stop by the Meyers Funeral Home to pay their respects to Jason and spend time with his family. On Monday, at ten in the morning, there will be a funeral mass held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, which is located at 35 Adams Place in Delmar. After the funeral, the burial will take place at the Calvary Cemetery on Route 9W in Glenmont.
