Ian Taplin Obituary, Death – It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we share the passing of our dear friend and dedicated Open Hands Trustee, Ian Taplin. On September 10th, Ian left us unexpectedly due to complications from long-term health conditions. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Ian’s departure has left a void in our lives and in the work we do at Open Hands. He was a pillar of strength, a trusted advisor, and a friend to us all. Ian’s life was a testimony to his strong faith in God, and he exemplified this faith through his actions, always reaching out to help those in need.
As a former lawyer and accountant, Ian generously used his expertise to support our charity. He offered invaluable advice and financial security to our organization, playing a pivotal role in our mission to build God’s kingdom on earth. Beyond his professional contributions, Ian’s sense of humor, intellectual discussions, and kindness endeared him to everyone he met.
Ian’s passing has left a void that cannot be filled. We will miss his wisdom, his realistic outlook, and the sound advice he offered to prevent hasty decisions. His absence will echo in our conversations, visits, and every aspect of the work we do. Yet, we find solace in the belief that we will meet again, and his legacy of love and service will continue to guide us.
Ian, your memory will forever be etched in our hearts. Your dedication and friendship have left an indelible mark on us. As we continue the work you were so passionate about, we honor you and strive to live up to the example you set.
With love and heartfelt condolences,
Rebekka and the Open Hands Team
