His departure is met with heartfelt sorrow by all who knew him. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Simon George, as well as his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Walter and Nancy Zeager. His memory is cherished by those he leaves behind, a testament to the lasting impact he had on their lives.
A devoted father, Greg’s love extended not only to his children but also to his cherished fur-babies, Augie and Diego, who found in him a kindred spirit and loving companion. He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Valerie George, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Their enduring love story is an inspiration to all who witnessed it. Greg’s legacy lives on through his daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Scott Lance, of Rocky Face, and his son, David George, of Dalton.
Greg’s family circle also includes his mother, Eileen George, hailing from Pennsylvania, a testament to the deep roots that connected him to his heritage. He is further survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Joe Greenberg and Maureen and Wilson Gonzalez, all from Pennsylvania, as well as his brother, Gavin George, residing in New Jersey.
His memory will forever light up the lives of his grandchildren: Sam, Lily, and Zachrey Lance of Rocky Face, and Brittney and Chanthy Ramirez of Lafayette. Their admiration for their beloved “Papa Greg” knows no bounds. To honor Greg’s life and the indelible mark he left on this world, a memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Dalton. Following the service, there will be a reception, where family and friends can share their memories and celebrate the life of this remarkable man who touched so many hearts.
