Edith Peeler Obituary, Death – On September 18, 2023, Edith Pearl Riley Peeler, who was 98 years old and lived in Hernando, Mississippi, passed away. She spent the majority of her life working as a self-employed farmer and dairyman in Hernando, Mississippi, where she had been born on July 13, 1925. She graduated from Hernando High School. She also had a career as an engraver, was a passionate photographer who kept her camera on her most of the time, and was a lifelong member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, where she held the position of President on multiple occasions.
On Friday, September 22, 2023, a Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm at the Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home located at 2470 Hwy 51 S in Hernando, Mississippi. Visitation will begin at 11 am and continue until the service begins. After the service, interment will take place at the Hernando Memorial Park. She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands: Randie Cotton of Como, Mississippi, Jannett Riley of Hernando, Mississippi, and Margaret Yelverton of Louin, Mississippi, along with her twelve grandchildren: Charlie, Kris, Jay, Robin, Tammy, Todd, Alecia, Jamie, Leah, Heather, and Jordan.
Her three daughters and their husbands survive her as well. She also leaves behind a large number of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will miss her greatly and loved her a great deal. Her parents, Guy and Pearl Riley, her two sons, Gary Peeler and Randall Peeler II, and her grandson, Josh, all passed away before she did. She was the widow of James Randall Peeler. Her parents and two sons also died before she did. Donations to the American Cancer Society, Disabled American Veteran’s Association, or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family in place of traditional floral tributes.
