Following his military service, Dustin battled divorce and PTSD, finding solace in his faith and a desire to help veterans facing similar struggles.
In 2017, he co-founded the non-profit Armatus Reintegration Program, aiding incarcerated veterans in Texas prisons. Upon his return to Keokuk in 2019, Dustin became actively involved in his community, serving as the commander of Keokuk American Legion Post 41 and participating in various veteran-focused initiatives.
