Djeila Barbosa Obituary, Death – After a prolonged battle with illness, Steven Mixell, aged 58, of Yorktown, Indiana, passed away at the Kindred Health Care facility in Muncie, surrounded by his family. Steven Mixell was born on January 5, 1955, to his parents, Edward “BUD” and Jerri (Hill) Mixell, in Muncie, Indiana. He graduated from Yorktown High School in 1974.
He worked at ABEX and ABC Rail in Anderson, and later at Wal-Mart and McClures in Muncie. He cherished his time spent with his children and grandchildren and enjoyed activities such as fishing, camping, and quality family time. Steven is survived by his two sons, Jamie Mixell and Jeremy Mixell, who are both married, along with two brothers, Greg Mixell and Jeff Mixell, both married, and a sister, Pam Stuelke, who is married to Mike.
His beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Caleb, and Brookelyn Mixell, as well as his cherished pets, Ratchet and Tipper, also survive him. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Preceding Steven in death were his parents and grandparents. He was an only child. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Gant Funeral Home, Yorktown Chapel, presided over by Pastor Doug Kiser. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 pm and on Monday, one hour before the services.
