Charles Russell Obituary, Death – Charles (Chuck) Russell, aged 55, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Marion General Hospital in Marion, Ohio. He was born in Ironton, Ohio, on June 8, 1968, to parents James Russell Sr. and Mary Evelyn Russell. In 1969, Charles and his family relocated to Marion, Ohio, where he attended Marion Harding High School. Charles dedicated many years of his career to Marion Steele.
Charles had a fervent passion for bowling, and it was a source of great joy for him. He also found immense delight in watching television, particularly sports, with a special place in his heart for the Denver Broncos and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Charles will be forever cherished for his remarkable ability to make others feel valued and for his unwavering selflessness, always putting the well-being of those around him first.
Charles is survived by his loving mother, Mary Russell; his devoted sons, Dustin and Shane Russell; his brothers, Brian (Nicole) Russell, Robbie Russell, and Johnny Russell; his cherished grandchildren, Parker, Cyrus, Legend, Londyn, Drayko, and Tyson; numerous nieces and nephews; his dedicated niece, Chelsey Manley, who provided care for him over the past eight years at Presidential Nursing Home; a special cousin, Bradley Miller; and a beloved aunt, Brenda Lewis. All of these family members reside in Marion, Ohio.
Charles is preceded in death by his father, James Russell Sr., and his grandmother, Grandma Miller, of Ironton, Ohio. He is also preceded by his brother, James Russell Jr. In remembrance of Charles Russell, may his legacy of kindness and selflessness continue to inspire us all. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 2-4 PM at Snyder Funeral Home, GUNDER/HALL Chapel; 360 E. Center Street Marion, OH 43302. The Funeral Ceremony will immediately follow at 4 PM. Charles will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
