Born on June 8, 1968, in Ironton, Ohio, he was the cherished child of James Russell Sr. and Mary Evelyn Russell. In 1969, fate brought the Russell family to Marion, Ohio, where Charles spent his formative years and later graduated from Marion Harding High School.
It was in Marion that he dedicated a significant portion of his career to the service of Marion Steele, leaving an indelible mark on those he worked with. While Charles had a diverse range of interests, his fervor for bowling was something truly special. He found immense joy in rolling strikes and spares, and his passion for the sport was infectious, inspiring others to join him in friendly competitions. Beyond the bowling alley, Charles was an avid sports enthusiast, with a deep love for the Denver Broncos and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
His enthusiasm for these teams was unrivaled, and he could often be found cheering them on with unwavering dedication. However, what truly defined Charles Russell was not his sporting preferences but his remarkable capacity for kindness and selflessness. He had a gift for making those around him feel valued and loved, consistently prioritizing the well-being of others. His acts of generosity and compassion left an enduring impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Charles leaves behind a legacy that will forever resonate with those who knew and loved him. Charles also leaves behind his brothers: Brian (Nicole) Russell, Robbie Russell, and Johnny Russell, who will continue to carry his memory forward with love and fondness.
His cherished grandchildren, Parker, Cyrus, Legend, Londyn, Drayko, and Tyson, were a source of immense joy for Charles, and they will always hold a special place in their hearts for their adoring grandfather. In addition to his immediate family, Charles is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who admired their uncle for his warmth and wisdom.
