Amanda Jane Obituary, Death – After a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer, Amanda Jane (Guthrie) Daigle, 43, of Groton, Massachusetts, died away on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Rose Monahan Hospice House. In Lowell, Massachusetts, Amanda was born to John and Deborah (Krawczyk) Guthrie. She was an incredibly devoted and loyal daughter and the center of their universe. John Daigle, Amanda’s husband and the love of her life, and they were married in 2007.
On August 11 of last month, they commemorated their sixteenth wedding anniversary. The phrase “…in sickness and in health” perfectly describes John and Amanda. Their love for one another was unmatched. In 1998, Amanda earned her high school diploma from Bishop Guertin. She graduated from Quinnipiac University with a marketing bachelor’s degree. She pursued her study at Merrimack College, where she graduated with a Master’s in study.
Amanda’s most recent position in the Acton-Boxborough school system was as a fourth grade teacher. She previously worked at the Norman E. Day School for the Westford Public Schools. With her gentle, calm demeanor and dedication to each and every child that attended her classroom, she made a significant impact on the lives of numerous youngsters. The three beloved children she had—Molly “Moll,” Chloe “Chlo-Chlo,” and Matthew “Matty”—were Amanda’s greatest joy. You won’t find a mother who is more committed. Amanda was the kind of mother that attended every event, supported her kids in all of their endeavors, and cheered them on.
Each of them carries on her beauty, both on the inside and the outside. Amanda had a smile that could brighten any space and a big, uncontrollable laugh to match. The entire world shared Amanda’s laughter. Amanda adored the great outdoors. skiing in New Hampshire with her family, spending warm summer days at their York Beach vacation house swimming in the ocean, and going on hikes and other adventures with John and the kids.
She will also be sorely missed by a huge number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Jamie Quealey Gumb, Amanda’s lifetime best friend, predeceased her. Hours of Visitation: 3–7 PM on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 Middlesex Street, North Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Funeral In Chelmsford, Massachusetts, at St. John the Evangelist Church on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM. At a later time, a private funeral will be held. Donations to The Daigle Children’s Education Fund may be offered in lieu of floral tributes.
